Alright people…

in Miscellaneous

I enjoyed reading all of the comments on the last post – but I had to share this one in particular with you because it made me laugh so hard my Jolly Rancher became lodged in my throat and I almost died:

“I’d let anyone go down on me. Woman, man, goat. Whatever.”
Avitable

If I had an award, I’d give it.
That’s a fucking classic statement right there. And this is coming from Me – Maria – someone who is so freaked out by bestiality [no, it's not beastiality you numbnuts] that she once had to pull her car over and vomit on the side of the road when listening to a guy on Howard Stern describe a donkey show he saw in Mexico. *shudders*

Okay, on to my personal opinion regarding universal bisexuality:

I do not believe that every person is or has considered being bisexual.

I think that there are people in existence, and a pretty large number of them at that, who have never considered it and who have never had any desire for or fantasy about it.

It’s interesting to me that many say that all women are, but men aren’t, as if there is some predetermined genetic disposition to bisexuality in just those with ovaries. That seems illogical to me, although I do believe that we may have been influenced by societal values, and what we see in popular media: you know the ol’…

a286 bm Alright people...
I think that because it is more ‘acceptable’ for two women to be seen together that women are more likely to ponder bisexuality, experiment with it, or even just manage to think about it for two seconds without going “Dude! Eww!! Nooo!!!”

I dunno, I’m no sexual anthropologist.

I’m pretty sure I could never eat pussy.
I still marvel at how men can do it – and enjoy it. Friggin’ mindboggling.
But I love 2 girl 1 guy porn [no cups you sickos!], and The L Word can get me going too, so it’s there – it’s just something that I know I’ll never act on.

I don’t think that everyone is like that.
My pal on the other hand, thinks that anyone who claims not to have at least thought about trying it is a liar. *shrugs*

P.S. I’ll have a new computer sometime next week, I think. Cross your fingers!

Think about it. According to the “big book,” women were made from the rib of Adam. That, in itself, makes us bisexual, no? In a very literal sense of the word, of course. ;)

Judging by the THOUSANDS of gay guys I’ve ‘come across’ (no sniggering) via a gay friend of mine, I would have to say that it’s more acceptable for guys to be a couple than women, like you reckon.

In Europe anyway, but we DO fucking rock over here of course.

See? This is what I mean. It’s not that it hasn’t occured to me in a hypothetical moment, but could I ever rip off a chick’s underwear and go to town? NO EFFING WAY.

I mean, I’m too lazy to really feel like it for my husband either, so eh. But whatever.

I ALSO find it strange that it’s more generally “plausible” for a woman to be bisexual than it is for a man. Why should a matching pair of chromosomes make any difference? If there are gay men and gay women and bisexual women, doesn’t it just make sense that there would be bisexual men?

I don’t know, I think more than either original post, I have enjoyed the comments the most. I also think we are a totally repressed society in general, so yeah, I think we all have had those feelings for the same sex in the past, we just don’t like to admit it. :) I am with you on the goeat thing, though? Funny? You betcha. But gross? oh, yeah…

Same thing I once said. Now I love it. A woman is weak for the tongue action. Good tongue action.

All women are bisexual? Nah, that’s just a myth. Or, a male fantasy.

hi honey!!! it’s been a while and i missed you!!
anyway, i totally agree with you…bestiality is downright nasty and not everyone is or has considered ever being bi-sexual!! i have NEVER had ANY desire to be with anyone from the same sex. that.is.nasty…for me. i don’t care if someone else is gay or bi-sexual…whatever floats their boat. not for me!!
i’m hoping you get a new computer quickly! mine has come home to me!!

Very interesting subject matter.

I think women are more likely to admit it if they have been with or are attracted to another woman. (Although “attracted to” doesn’t necessarily mean “desiring of going down on”) Some attractions are not purely sexual. (That reminds me of the “Sex and the City” where Charlotte starts hanging out with a bunch of lesbians-they finally tell her she can’t hang out with them anymore because she doesn’t eat pussy!)

I think lots of men have had homosexual experiences (especially when they are young) that they don’t fess up to.

Oh man Maria… interesting topic. Sure beats talking about puppies.

Last week my 1 yr old ate the puppy’s poop and all I could think of was the 2 girls and cup. UGH! We got rid of the puppy today. Now I have to get rid of that image. :)

I think it’s very cultural, too. Margaret Mead wrote about how the teenage boys in Samoa used each other for sexual pleasure, but then married girls later, but that the girls didn’t have sexual activity with each other. That was their norm.

Well, I enjoyed the opportunity to think about it, and discuss it. I talked to a friend about your post too. Good question, enjoyable comments. Goodnight!

I do actually think that in the right circumstances, whether it’s an extremely ridiculous situation like being stranded on an island or a frequent situation like being in prison, every person would turn to someone of the same sex for social and sexual comfort.

And goats do bite, but only if you don’t rub peanut butter on your penis first.

I don’t know.. I always assumed most (not all, though) had at least ‘thought’ about it. Most wouldn’t ever act upon it, but many are curious..
I’ve had many girlfriends (girls that are friends) that I’ve fooled around with, just because they were curious, and knew I was a good enough friend not to tell. TMI? Oh well, you did sort of ask..

We honestly don’t know what men talk about when they are alone. I, for one, don’t WANT to know. That movie Jarhead seriously changed my perspective on what happens to men when they are without women for long periods of time.

I still think everyone has at least thought about it. Even if it’s just to think “Ew. No!”

I think everyone (male or female) has thought about it, but I don’t think everyone has been tempted by it. But that has more to do with circumstance than hardwiring, I think.
